Spirit of the Valleys, Tredegar Town Band's latest CD is now available.

Featuring a number of new commissions, including the title track "Spirit of the Valleys" by Chris King, the CD showcases all of the Band's talented soloists and includes pieces performed by the Band during several recent contest victories.

The Band's Associate Composer in Residence and percussion player (Matthew Hall) provides the CD's second commission "Dragons Rise" penned as a musical representation of the resurgence of the Band under the baton of Musical Director Ian Porthouse.  2008 saw the Band crowned Champion Band of Wales, Runners up in the All England International Masters as well as winning several other contests.
