Approaching this contest the Band knew they had to deliver a performance at least as good as the previous weekend in the Grand Shield. With a home crowd packed into the leisure centre in Tredegar the Band demonstrated great professionalism and delivered an outstanding performance which earned us 1st place, 6 points ahead of runners-up Tongwynlais.
Top 3:
1st. Tredegar - I Porthouse - 196 points 2nd. Tongwynlais - G Pritchard - 190 points 3rd. Tylorstowns - G Davies - 188 points
Congratulations must also go to Dewi Griffiths (principal cornet) and Chris Davies (solo horn) for cleaning up the soloist and instrumentalist prizes of the day.
