For the third weekend running we found ourselves ready and prepared to give another high class performance. It would be fair to say that on first glance, ‘Malcolm Arnold Variations’ wasn’t one of the bands favourite pieces. However, with careful direction and encouragement from our MD, Ian Porthouse, we soon learnt to love the music and enjoyed working through all the intricacies of the variations.
After quality rehearsals before our on stage performance the Band had very high expectations. The on stage performance went well and a few clips did not seem to detract from the overall sound of the Band and we earned a respectful 2nd place, above some of the best bands in the Country.
Congratulations to the Band and we can enjoy a nice week off after all the work of the past months and get ready for a busy June.
