Junior Band

Tredegar Band has always sustained a high standard and large numbers within the Junior Band, but over the past number of years we have seen membership and interest from the younger generations dwindle.

 

However, as a Band and a Charity we are focused on continuing this programme and have enrolled the help and guidance of two of our most prominent members:

 

Ian Porthouse (MD) and Dewi Griffiths (Principal)

 

Both Ian and Dewi are currently teaching music (see their profiles for details) and have committed to growing this project.  Brass Bands are a fundamental tradition of our Welsh heritage and we look to the future of this fine institution as we develop our youth into fine musicians.

 

Being a musician requires discipline and commitment, both of which are virtues we all wish to encourage in the youth of today.  Therefore, Ian and Dewi are fully on board with this and are running tutorage and a Junior Band on:

 

Wednesdays:            6.00pm - 7.30pm
